His Majesty’s Posse
The man called Six works for an organization that has no name. It doesn’t exist officially. A man he calls Beyond gives him assignments to carry out. They involve disappearing persons deemed dangerous with extreme prejudice. His only contact is with his “housekeeper,” Fiona at his flat in Bloomsbury. His new assignment surprises him in a way that leads him into the center of a mutiny in the ranks of the organization. He and Fiona find themselves in the thick of it.

British reviewer awards 5 stars out of 5 to His Majesty’s Posse:
[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of “His Majesty’s Posse” by Noah Bond.]
His Majesty’s Posse, a book written by Noah Bond, tells the adventures of Six, a trained agent and assassin who works for a secret organisation. Agents who work here are given new identities and are required to carry out their tasks precisely. Six is saddled with the responsibility of disappearing enemies and leaving no trace. He has no direct link to his boss and doesn’t know who he is. He’s only allowed to associate with Fiona, who is also a partner in the organisation.
Fiona is kidnapped by unknown men who inflict multiple injuries on her, and she is eventually set free. Again, she gets shot by Beyond, an agent superior to Six. Why did these events occur? Why will Beyond want to kill them both? Did she survive being shot? Get a copy to find out.
The book is set in four locations: London, Brighton, Paris, and Surrey. As the story unfolds, Fiona reveals the dark secret surrounding her and Lieutenant Colonel Starky. I like Fiona’s fierce personality. She is one who does not allow her traumatic past to define her future. I’m amused by Six’s sense of humour, as he makes light of every situation, no matter how serious it looks. Again, I like the way Fiona gradually warms up to Six. The book progresses in an easy, conversational tone, and the author paid proper attention to detailing and distinguishing the different characters.
There’s nothing to dislike about the book, although I wondered why there are many chapters in the book, as a new chapter begins with every change in scene. However, this did not affect my reading flow in any way. Again, I didn’t find any errors, which shows the book is flawlessly edited.
For these reasons, I rate it 5 out of 5 stars, as there’s no justification to deduct any stars. This book is recommended to readers who love books on crime and mystery. It’s also a thrill for readers who love solving puzzling situations, just like the events that took place in the book.
4-star Review by American Reviewer
His Majesty’s Posse by Noah Bond follows the story of a clandestine branch of the military offering special services unknown to the Crown. Agents of the organization are separated from their former identities and trained to be assassins, disappearing threats, and enemies of the British monarch. The story focuses on Six, a trained expert in the field. He carries out his assignments without direct contact with his boss. He is only allowed to relate with his appointed housekeeper, Fiona. After being handed an unusual mission, Six discovers that he is also a target. An inquisitive Six undertakes a personal mission on his own, seeking the identity of his employer. Before long, Fiona and Six find themselves entangled in an investigation involving an attempt to take over the organization.
I was fond of the humor in this book. I was amused by how the characters made light of very tense moments; it made the book very enjoyable. The author’s skillful storytelling and meticulous attention to detail made for an amazing reading experience. The unorthodox nature of the story’s conclusion made me love it all the more. I was left completely content and impressed after reading this book. The characters were well-developed, with complex motivations and hidden agendas, adding depth and authenticity to the story. The pacing of the story was clever and well-timed, with each chapter leaving me with eagerness to uncover the next clue or untangle another layer of the mystery.
I recommend this story to keen enthusiasts of crime thriller and mystery novels. If you enjoy solving intricate puzzles and unmasking elusive culprits, this book is an absolute must-read. It takes readers on a thrilling journey into the world of crime and mystery that will leave you wanting more.
